After a hugely successful launch in 2015, DWA’s Academy program is headed into its second year, as the 2016 program is now officially taking submissions. Four bright candidates will be selected to join a 6-week rotational program working in the San Francisco office at DWA, the leading global media and marketing agency specializing in technology companies.
DWA formally selected two universities, The University of Texas and The University of San Francisco, as official pilot schools for the Academy program, but is also open to all quality candidates completing their undergraduate studies in the of Spring 2016 from top, four-year universities.
Academists will have the unique experience to accelerate their marketing and advertising skill sets by collaborating with various departments throughout their time at DWA. They will gain deep insights into how each department operates separately and together, as they rotate through practice groups including media planning/buying, intent marketing, account management, and through the agency’s sales and marketing function.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how DWA functions as an agency, as they work closely with all the employees in the San Francisco office.
Previous Academists were fortunate to build relationships with upper management and receive advice from mentors - both of which offered insights into agency life, career paths and tips for making the transition from college to the real world. Successful Academists were also able to identify their strengths and interests, while gaining hands-on experience at a fast-paced agency.
2015 Academists described their time and tasks while in the program, saying, “We pitched in front of clients, planned agency events, managed marketing initiatives, and networked within the marketing tech industry - there were endless ways to develop complementary skillsets.”
