Oracle Buy Data Managing Startup BlueKai

Tech Industry News: Facebook Buys Whatsapp for $16 billion

Facebook announced on Wednesday afternoon that it reached an agreement to buy popular mobile messenger startup WhatsApp for and upfront total of $16 billion, including $4 billion in cash and about $12 billion in Facebook shares. Facebook has explained the reason behind the acquisition on its blog. Facebook Competitors Driving Retail Revenue

Adobe recently released their Q4 2013 Social Media Intelligence Report, which analysed the final quarter of 2013, focusing on Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook. The revenue per visit insights showed that Tumblr was up 340% year-over-year, Pinterest was up 244%, Twitter was up 131% and Facebook was up 72%.
