DWA Australia Wins BRW Top Slot | 28 October 2010

ANZ Ad Market grows 61%. Or at least that would be the headline if the overall market growth actually reflected the growth rate of technology specialist DWA, which saw overall billings increase 61% year-on-year from FY 2008 to FY 2009. Such rapid growth, ahead of the pack, not only won them 2nd place on the BRW Fast 100 2010 list announced yesterday but also positions them as the only such agency to make the cut.

“We are the only media agency in this year’s BRW Fast 100 list, and we are second only to a massive utility company” says DWA’s APAC managing director John Massey. “We are thrilled with the result and, at number 2 in the listing, we placed high amid very strong competition.”

A raft of recent announcements sees DWA Australia bucking global trends: winning awards for fast sustained revenue growth, adding senior staff to the roster, developing big new clients and seeing accelerated business forecasts for the rest of the year. The BRW win is the highest profile in a list of recent announcements and developments that herald the next phase of development for the agency.

Selected 2010 timeline:

March Launches First 3D Magazine Ad in Australia market for storage vendor

April Selected as BRW Fast Starter

May Begins hiring spree to increases senior team by 30% adding among others key account staff from the UK

Continues: To win marquee accounts in the B2B and B2C space, including the Livescribe smartpen brand which has made a huge impact in the Australia market.

“When you see year-on-year growth that beats all projections, that means two things:” says Massey. “First, we are winning and keeping the right clients by delivering on ROI for their marketing spends, and second that these companies are also bullish about their ability to sustain and build on their top lines. The Australian tech sector never stopped growing and now that rate of growth is increasing.”
